Supplying the brewing, food and beverage industry.
Taking place at Holywell Park Conference Centre, Loughborough, the event will begin with an informal networking dinner on 14th October, followed by a full day of technical presentations, discussion and supplier networking on 15th October.
The friendly rivalry between BFBi’s Midland and Northern Sections returned on 15th July as members and industry guests gathered at Walmley Golf Club in Birmingham for the 2026 BFBi Challenge Cup Golf Day.
The annual event brought together players from across the brewing, food and beverage supply chain for a relaxed day of golf, networking and friendly competition. Teams representing businesses and BFBi sections from across the country took to the course, with both individual and team honours at stake.
Following a competitive round, the BFBi Midland Section emerged as the 2026 Section Champion, securing the Challenge Cup and this year’s regional bragging rights, taking the cup from the Northern section!
There were also several excellent individual performances throughout the day. Darren McKelvey of Donaldson Filtration claimed the overall individual title and the best gross score went to Tim Beaumont, a guest of RWC.

Congratulations to all the winners and to everyone who represented their company and section during the competition.
Although the Challenge Cup provided plenty of competitive interest, the day was also a valuable opportunity for colleagues and contacts from across the industry to meet away from the office. After the final putt, guests returned to the clubhouse for drinks, but our prize-giving soon found itself facing some formidable competition from England’s World Cup semi-final. With several guests heading off to watch the match, the usual dinner and presentation took a slightly different format this year. Nevertheless, it was great to see so many staying in the clubhouse to cheer on England — proving that even after 18 holes, there was still plenty of energy left for one more sporting contest.
BFBi would like to thank everyone who entered a team or took part as an individual, as well as Walmley Golf Club for hosting the event. Special thanks also go to the businesses that generously supported the prize table. Congratulations once again to the Midland Section and all the 2026 prize winners. We look forward to welcoming the industry back for the next BFBi Golf Day and seeing whether the Midland Section can successfully defend the trophy in 2027.
