Supplying the brewing, food and beverage industry.
BFBi and some of its members recently had the pleasure of visiting Ossett Brewery, a respected Yorkshire brewery with a strong reputation for combining traditional brewing knowledge with a modern, progressive approach.
Founded in 1998, Ossett Brewery has grown from its northern roots into a well-known name in cask and craft beer, with a portfolio that includes the hugely popular White Rat and the wider Rat range, including Hell Rat, that recently won a gold medal at the prestigious International Brewing Awards. For BFBi members, the visit provided an excellent opportunity to see behind the scenes at a working brewery, meet the people behind the beer, and better understand the processes, challenges and opportunities involved in modern brewing.
The day offered a valuable insight into the full brewing operation, from raw materials and recipe development through to production, quality, packaging and distribution. It was particularly interesting to see how Ossett balances consistency and efficiency with the flexibility needed to support a large, varied beer range and changing customer expectations.
As always with BFBi events, the visit was not only about the technical side of the industry, but also about bringing people together. The brewery setting provided a relaxed and engaging environment for members to share experiences, discuss common challenges and strengthen connections across the brewing, food and beverage supply chain, whilst enjoying a pint, of course.
We would like to thank the team at Ossett Brewery for their warm welcome (big shout out to Matt and Gary for hosting us!), hospitality and openness throughout the visit. Their passion for brewing and commitment to quality came through clearly, and members left with a greater appreciation of both the craft and the commercial discipline behind a successful modern brewery.
BFBi is grateful to everyone who attended and helped make the visit such an enjoyable and worthwhile event. We look forward to continuing to support opportunities that connect members, showcase industry expertise and celebrate the businesses that keep the brewing, food and beverage sector moving forward.
