Not Every Panel Is for Production: Whitewall for Diverse Facility Uses!

Untitled design - 1

Stancold’s Food Projects team installs whitewall partitioning layouts and temperature‑controlled solutions for food and beverage producers across the UK, each responding to different drivers for change.

The bespoke nature of Stancold’s projects and the flexible benefits of whitewall partitioning produce a range of practical applications for food and beverage producers.

The two most common applications Stancold sees are hygienic production areas that use whitewall’s food‑grade finish and cold storage zones that rely on its insulated nature. Its food-safe, insulated and freestanding design lets whitewall panelling satisfy different on‑site goals.

A recent Wiltshire project showcased whitewall’s versatility when Stancold Food Projects was engaged by a contractor partner to fit out an existing area at a dairy producer’s site.

You’d expect a whitewall fit‑out to serve food-safe production or temperature-controlled storage, but in this case the space had neither function.

Part of the dairy producer’s existing facility was a steel-framed area with metal cladding that was used for storage. They wanted to convert the space into an engineering workshop. Food and beverage production sites often have an engineering workshop separate from the production and product storage areas. In many cases this is for the maintenance of site machinery.

Since the workshop hadn’t been finished with whitewall panelling, it was inconsistent with the plant and prone to both low winter temperatures and hot summer temperatures from the uninsulated steel frame.

Stancold was called in to line the area with whitewall panelling, which would not only make the space visually consistent with the rest of the facility but also protect their engineers from colder temperatures. Whitewall panels are associated with keeping a consistent temperature in food storage environments, but their insulated composition also means they can keep outside temperatures where they belong!

To provide the dairy site’s engineers with the space they required, Stancold’s installers fitted the area with whitewall partitioning, preserved the roller‑door aperture and formed a fully enclosed office inside the workshop.

This example highlights the versatility of Stancold’s whitewall panel solutions, which combine food‑grade hygiene with insulated construction to protect internal environments and provide temperature consistency.
