How is the course structured?
The qualification is based around self-managed learning, requiring candidates to utilise the course materials provided and their on-the-job experience to reach the desired learning outcomes.
The course comprises 6 units, divided into two elements: Health & Safety and Drinks Dispense.

Practical Assessment*: Required for candidates without requisite experience.
CSIM Card
BFBi has produced a personal accreditation scheme, gained through completion of 1 to 6 units (dependant on the qualification). This qualification represents the specific skills and knowledge required by Cellar Service Engineers. The CSIM card is proof of competence and allows holders to legally perform cellar installations and maintenance. These cards also meet the requirements of the Construction Design & Management Regulations 2007 (CDM) and are available in four different cards:
White Card – FDQ Level 3 Award (or BIIAB Level 2 in Certificate in Health & Safety and Survey of the Cellar).
Blue Card – BIIAB Level 2 National Certificate in Cellar Service Installation & Maintenance.
Silver Card – Level 2 NVQ in Drinks Dispense.
Gold Card– FDQ Level 3 Diploma in Drinks Dispense or Level 3 NVQ in Drinks Dispense.
