BFBi North v Midland Challenge Cup Golf Day – Pleasington Golf Club, Blackburn

Glorious sunshine and a beautifully presented Pleasington Golf Club set the perfect stage for the inaugural BFBi North v Midland Challenge Cup Golf Day, a landmark event introducing a new competition format and section-based challenge cup.

The day saw a fantastic turnout and some superb golfing, with Josh Prudhoe of the Diversey team stealing the show. Josh claimed a hat-trick of titles—Individual Overall Winner, Best Gross Score, and Longest Drive on the 11th Hole—a phenomenal performance that helped power his team to the top of the leaderboard.

In the individual handicap categories:

  • Enzo Caruana (Diversey) claimed top honours in the 0–14 handicap category.
  • Ean Andrews Whalley (Envirogen team) took home the 15–28 handicap prize.

The Diversey team emerged as the Number 1 Team of the Day, finishing with a remarkable 98 points, closely followed by Envirogen, who put in a strong showing with 95 points.

Other highlights from the day included:

  • Darren McKelvey (Donaldson Filtration) winning Nearest the Pin on the 12th Hole
  • James Hill (Harry Mason) achieving Nearest the Pin on the 16th Hole
  • Sam Blakemore (Envirogen) powering the Longest Drive on the 4th Hole

This year also marked the debut of the Challenge Cup format, where players competed not just as individuals or teams, but as representatives of their regional sections—North, Midland, Western, and London. The overall Challenge Cup was awarded based on the average individual score per section, and it couldn’t have been closer.

  • 🏆 Northern Section were crowned Challenge Cup Champions with an average score of 30.79
  • Western Section finished just behind on 30.33
  • Midland Section placed third with 29.7
  • London Section completed the standings on 29

It was a day filled with camaraderie, competitiveness, and celebration—truly showcasing the spirit of the BFBi community. With the sun shining, a stunning course, and a successful new format, the 2025 Challenge Cup Golf Day has set a high benchmark for years to come and was truly a memorable event.
