This website and its services are owned and administered by BFBi. BFBI is a Brewing, Food and Beverage Industry Sector portal. BFBi appreciates that you trust us with your data. With our intention being transparent please see the details on how we use your data below.

What personal information we have and where do we store it? 

BFBi as data controllers stores basic contact information of its members which includes first name, last name, email, address, city, country, postcode, telephone and fax of our members and employees. We also collect and store the email addresses of our newsletter subscribers.
Information is gathered when visitors fill forms on our website, via email or telephone to us, asking to be subscribed. 

Data is stored until requested to be removed. If a request for removal is made the data is removed from our database. 

How will this information be used?

The information about you as an identifiable individual, including contact details, may be used in a number of ways, including:

  • Our internal records
  • Verifying your identity (for example when you login to the website)
  • Informing you about the latest changes to the website, or products, services or promotional offers that you might find interesting
  • Communicating (and personalising such communication) with you

The collected data is not used for any additional purpose, such as to profile those who access our website.

Information security

We have taken appropriate steps to ensure your information is safe with us. This includes but is not limited to
IPtables firewall, server hardening, server uptime monitoring, regular server updates and patches, brute force prevention on SSH and FTPES, Application firewall using Mod-Security, DDoS protection from Hetzner, OpenVas scans, Weekly checks for server security and performance, backup and archive solutions, disaster recovery solution, and HTTPS for the website.

Is any data stored or handled outside of the EEA (European Economic Area)?

Most of the data is stored within the EEA at Hetzner (www.hetzner.de) which we use for hosting requirements. Hetzner does not have software access to our servers as it does not have any OS accounts.

Our processor sapnagroup Ltd. a UK based IT company has sub processors Sapna Technologies in India which we use for our services which include software development and server maintenance. Sometimes data may be processed outside the EEA. Where this happens, we will ensure that it is given the same levels of protection as required under the UK Data Protection Act.
