Is Kombucha your thing?

Enterprise t

It’s our thing too! At Enterprise Tondelli they have been supplying bottling and canning lines for the beverage industry for more than 40 years and a recent order is for a complete kombucha bottling line.

Don’t know what kombucha is – read on. Kombucha is a fermented tea product that is “live” and is generally made from green tea that is fermented with a “Scoby” – an acronym for ‘Symbiotic Culture Of Bacteria and Yeast’. The product is then enhanced with such natural flavours such as ginger, raspberry, apple etc. There are purported health benefits from the probiotic bacteria in the product  and the market continues to grow rapidly. Allegedly kombucha culture can even be dried into bacterial cellulose and then moulded into forms to create seamless clothing!

The line from Enterprise will consist of a depalletising station feeding to a rotary three station labeller. The labeller from BRB Globus in Italy will have servo motor platforms so that any future labelling can be accommodated.

Due to carbonation they will be cold filling and pre-labelling to avoid any problems with condensation under the labels and make application much more efficient. The rotary rinser, counterpressure filler and crowner are mounted on the same stainless steel base frame to ensure the hygiene of the product and reduction for any contamination. As this is a live product cleaning in place is also very important and the filler will have special stainless steel dummy bottles. Carbonation will be in-line with flow meter control for accurate CO2 dosing and a stabilisation tank prior to filling mounted on a stainless steel skid. A two tank CIP set with flow and return pumps and electrically heated tank ensure the system is cleaned effectively with a control panel with timers and temperature settings. Conveyors from Enterprise complete the line to give a turn key project.

Do you need something like this for your kombucha production or other beverages? Or maybe you need a canning plant. Visit their website www.enterprisetondelli.co.uk to see our scope of supply – from single machine to complete turn key projects or why not send an email with your requirement.
