2023 Annual Joint IBD/BFBi Engineering Symposium

The 2023 Annual Joint IBD/BFBi Engineering Symposium organised by the Midlands Sections will be held atBriggs of Burton PLC on Thursday 23rd February 2023.

Four papers will be presented on the themes of “heating & refrigeration”. Briggs of Burton Plc, who are experts in this particular field, are hosting the event and will provide a cold buffet at the end of the papers.  

There is ample parking available on site.

Project Life Cycle, Structured Approach to Projects (with a refrigeration example) 

Session 2 David O’Brien, Consultant – Star Technical Solutions

Refrigeration theory & Refrigeration practice + the refrigeration cycle + Principal plant items

Session 3 Andrew Mielienewski, Head of Technical Sales – Briggs of Burton PLC
Application of heat pumps in breweries and distilleries
Session 4 Colin Morgan, Technical Manager – Alfa Laval

Theory and practice of heat transfer in breweries

  • Final Plenary Q&A followed by tour of Briggs’ Global Technical Centre and buffet before heading into Burton to sample the best Burton pubs have to offer.

There is no charge for IBD members, the total hospitality package is kindly being sponsored by the hosts, Briggs of Burton Plc.

If you wish to attend, please respond by email as soon as possible, but no later than Friday 18th February 2023, to John Round (Treasurer IBD Midland Section). If the event becomes full, preference will be given to IBD Diploma candidates.
