Course: Packaging Technology for Non-Packaging Technologists

This course will provide a basic understanding of packaging technology and the different materials used to package a wide variety of food and drink products. Key topics include: manufacture of materials (glass, metals, plastic and paperboard), potential applications, packaging defects and testing. Legislation, specification and certificates of conformance will also be covered.

The course will allow food and packaging technologists to make the correct choices and consider the advantages and disadvantages of different types of packaging material.
